» News November 25, 2011 - Torrent 6100 LTE Test System Released Mobile Metrics is very pleased to announce the immediate availability of the Torrent 6100 LTE Test System for testing the LTE core network. This initial release focuses on testing Serving Gateways and PDN Gateways, and features many new innovations. We're thrilled that it is able to sustain initial attach rates in excess of 30,000 attaches/per second, and that it can easily support over 1M subscribers on a single machine. August 20, 2011 - New Airlink Hardware Exceeds Perormance Expectations Mobile Metrics is delighted to announce it's evolved airlink hardware platform has successfully received full OFDMA frames over live air from the Sprint network, and that the signal quality of the received frames exceeded expectations. August 15, 2011 - Evolved Airlink Achieves Live Air Synchronization Mobile Metrics announced today that it's evolved airlink hardware with is both WiMAX and LTE capable achieved synchronization with the Sprint network over live air in Houston. Further tests of both RX and TX capabilities are still under way. July 31, 2011 - Evolved Airlink Hardware Analog Tests Successful Mobile Metrics announced today that the evolved airlink hardware platform has exceeded expectations int analog signal loopback tests. Although QAM-64 is the highest rate QAM modulation scheme defined in 802.16e, in analog loopback tests, the system was able to successfully send and receive QAM-256 signals whith very high signal quality. July 19, 2011 - Torrent 7100 Version 5.0 Released Mobile Metrics today announced the immediate availability of Release 5.0 of the Torrent 7100 featuring numerous new features, including support for emulating 4000+ base stations with O(1) performance, ARP scalability testing facilities, tracing enhancements, extended support for simple IP, a secondary DHCP server, support for mixed MIP/SIP traffic, and more. May 25, 2011 - Evolved Airlink Hardware Design Completed Mobile Metrics announced today that it had completed the design of it's evolved airlink hardware platform, and that the boards associated with it were in the manufacturing stages. This hardware platform is capable of supporting both WiMAX and LTE, 802.16m, LTE Advanced, and potentially supporting channel bandwidths in excess of 25MHz. While the original system supported one channel per chassis, requiring two chassis for handover testing, the new system supports two channels on a single chassis, and may support up to four depending on baseband processing requirements. April 8, 2011 - Torrent 4100 Version 2.3 Released Mobile Metrics today announced the immediate availability of Release 2.3 of the Torrent 4100 for Mobile IP testing. This release features graphical tracing, configuration import/export capabilities, and various other features inherited from the Torrent 7100. February 2, 2011 - Airlink Hardware Evolution Plans Invoked After successfully demonstrating network entry, and preparing to go into production the company learned that the baseband processing board for the airlink hardware was discontinued without notice. Invoking contingency plans for such a possibility, the company accelerated it's already existing hardware evolutions plans. October 8, 2010 - Torrent 7100 Version 4.8 Released Mobile Metrics today announced the immediate availability of Release 4.8 of the Torrent 7100 WiMAX Test Systems for ASN Gateways and CSNs. This release features the addition of new turn-key WiMAX test suites covering control procedures including handover, data plane tests, and combinations of both. It also includes tracing enhancements as well as a new integrated DB backup and restore facility. September 8, 2010 - WiMAX Live Air Network Entry Milestone Achieved Mobile Metrics is pleased to announce today that it has that it has successfully performed a network entry over the air at 2.55GHz. This test was accomplished between the Mobile Metrics mobile emulation system and the Mobile Metrics BS emulation system, both of which are a part of the Torrent 7240 and both of which were running on the Torrent 7240 airlink hardware: August 9, 2010 - WiMAX MIMO Interoperability Milestone Achieved After synchronizing to the Sprint 4G Network in Houston, the Torrent 7240 hardware, under development, was successfully able to decode a MIMO STC Matrix A transmission over the air at a distance of 1300m from the tower: June 21, 2010 - WiMAX Channel Emulation Capability Demonstrated Having captured live transmissions, the Torrent 7240 was able to analyze and record the characteristics of a real channel and then to apply those characteristics, along with Gaussian noise to pristine signals, resulting in OFDMA signal spectra and constellations which were nearly indistinguishable from ones received live off the air: June 5, 2010 - WiMAX Synchronization and Decoding IOT Milestone Achieved Mobile Metrics is pleased to announce today that the Torrent 7240 was able to successfully synchronize over live air to the Sprint 4G Network in Houston at at distance of 1300m, and to successfully decode control messages, and do so with zero bit errors.

Although the new Diameter implementation in the Torrent 5100 is highly flexible and configurable, the initial release focuses only on Diameter Credit Control. September 30, 2009 - Torrent 5100 V 4.0 Released To allow testing of charging gateways, Mobile Metrics has augmented the Torrent 5100, with new functionality which allows comprehensive functional and load testing of CGFs. Generation of both G-CDRs as well as S-CDRs is specifically supported as are other CDR types, and CDR fields are highly configurable through an innovative new message configurability framework introduced in this release. June 8, 2009 - Mobile WiMAX MS and BS Baseband Developed Having identified limitations in preformance and flexibility with 3rd party baseband implementations, Mobile Metrics announced today that it had completed development of a new Mobile WiMAX / 802.16e OFDMA-PHY implementation for both base stations and mobile stations for use on both the Torrent 7240 and AirScan 750, and that these implementations had been successfully tested with both control procedures such as network entry as well as various data plane procedures.
