Mobile Metrics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of version 5.9 Torrent 6100 for LTE EPC testing. This release allows the 10GE fiber interfaces normally used exclusively for streaming traffic to also be used as normal interfaces while not very significantly effecting streaming performance. So for example GTP-C or S1AP can be carried over the same links as streaming traffic which can be useful for testing LTE network monitoring equipment.

Mobile Metrics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of version 2.0 of the 7240 for WiMAX over the air testing of base stations and mobile stations. This release of the system features changes at the firmware, driver, and baseband layer to allow for RF hardware abstraction, and to generally simplify the system's architecture. It features higher performance, and will allow the RF portion of the system to be much more easily changed or enhanced in future releases.

This release adds internal overload controls to the STS so that excessively high packet rates on the STS data plane can be handled with greater elegance. This is of particular importance in the case when SIP/RTP traffic is being streamed. Additionally this build features Gx/Diameter enhancements along with a switch allowing Diameter to be enabled or disabled at will.

Mobile Metrics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of version 5.0 Torrent 6100 for LTE EPC testing. This release which was preceded by a company record thirteen point releases over the span of five months is packed with new features, including S1 handover, extensive IPv6 support throughout the system, including the high-speed 10GE streaming engine. It also features switchable support on the streaming engine for Gi and S5/S8 streaming allowing high speed streaming tests into either the SGW or PGW. This release also includes various tracing enhancements, allowing for example, tracing of otherwise encrypted NAS messages.

In this release, the Torrent 6100 is enhanced to provide VLAN tagging support for 10GE interfaces. This allows for very high bandwidth user plane traffic streaming over numerous VLANs with configurable control over 802.1q CFI and priorities. This release also helps user's visualize configurations by introducing a network diagram feature, as well as providing tracing enhancements for the high speed 10GE user plane.

Mobile Metrics is delighted to announce the immediate availability of a new version of the Torrent 6100 featuring a new, scalable, and very high bandwidth data plane test engine. The new release is capable of generating hundreds of gigabits per second of traffic in a scaled configuration. Moreover, the traffic types that the system uses in these high speed scenarios are highly realistic and extensible, and include popular traffic types such as YouTube, Facebook, Netflix, and Pandora. Physical interfaces supported are SR and LR fiber as well as 10GE over copper.

Mobile Metrics announced today that its eNB emulator and mass UE emulator successfully achieved sync, and transmitted 64-QAM SFBC encoded information in TDD mode. The full Torrent 6240 release which includes these two elements is targeted for 4Q13.

February 3, 2012 - AirScan 750 Drive Tests
Mobile Metrics is pleased to announce that live air drive tests of the AirScan 750 for WiMAX were successful, and yielded high quality results, even with relatively low gain antennas. The tests were conducted in the Houston area using the 4U AirScan 750, a laptop, and generic power inversion and regulation equipment. Below are two typical WiMAX (DL-PUSC) constellations received during these tests (which also included successful STC MIMO RX tests).

Mobile Metrics announced today that the evolved airlink hardware platform has exceeded expectations int analog signal loopback tests. Although QAM-64 is the highest rate QAM modulation scheme defined in 802.16e, in analog loopback tests, the system was able to successfully send and receive QAM-256 signals with very high signal quality.

May 25, 2011 - Evolved Airlink Hardware Design Completed
Mobile Metrics announced today that it had completed the design of it's evolved airlink hardware platform, and that the boards associated with it were in the manufacturing stages. This hardware platform is capable of supporting both WiMAX and LTE, 802.16m, LTE Advanced, and potentially supporting channel bandwidths in excess of 25MHz. While the original system supported one channel per chassis, requiring two chassis for handover testing, the new system supports two channels on a single chassis, and may support up to four depending on baseband processing requirements.
